Meditation for Mediumship

The practice of meditation is the key that opened the door to the ability to use my Spiritual Gifts. There are many ways to meditate and each person should choose the method that works best for them. This article is meant to describe the type of meditation that I use to link with my Spirit Guides when I am doing my Spiritual work. For lack of a better term I will call it Active Meditation. Active because it requires conversation (all be it on a mental level). Am I then "talking to myself"? You will have to be the judge of that after you try this method. The objective is to make contact with a Guide from the Higher Planes of Spirit. Someone who will act as your "Gate Keeper " or Protector when doing your Spiritual work. The following is the method I use to find, identify and get to know my many Master Teachers and Spirit Guides. If you try this technique, you may be surprised at who you meet along the way.

Begin by finding a quiet place to relax. It is very dangerous to have anyone touch or disturb you in any way while you are in a meditative state. It is best , therefore, to have someone you trust in your presence when you begin to do this. The use of music, incense or candlelight may be helpful, but is not necessary. Get in a comfortable position and relax. It does not matter if you sit or lie down although you may fall asleep if you are too comfortable. Remember this is Active Meditation and requires your participation.

Cleanse and protect yourself and your environment before you begin. This is a critical step in the process. You are reaching out to the Planes of Spirit where Beings of Great Consciousness live. You will not reach them in a negative environment. They exist only in the Presence of Pure Light or Christ Light as some prefer to call it. Many methods to accomplish this cleansing can be used. I do the following: Say the "Lord's Prayer" out loud. Repeat the following affirmations three times each:

"I visualize a wall of Pure Silver Light surrounding this room now."
"I fill the room and my aura with the Mighty Violet Flame."
"I am cleansed and purified by the Violet Flame of Perfection."
"Only that of Good and God may enter herein."
"I am a pure and open channel for the inflow of Divine Guidance."
"I reach out to my Master Teachers and Spirit Guides now."

Upon completion of these prayers and affirmations you are ready to open your channel for communication. Visualize a large magnet over your head. Mentally turn on the magnet. Imagine any and all blocks to clear communication being pulled out by the power of the magnet. Visualize a clear pipe with crystal clear water running through it. Your channel is now open.

Begin by asking a question. Wait for an answer then ask another question. Once your conversation has begun, keep it going. At first, you will wonder if you are talking to yourself. Do not worry you will soon learn to know the "vibrations" of your Guides and will be able to tell the difference between them and your own consciousness. As you receive answers to your questions you should ask for the name of the person communicating. Accept whatever name they give you and write it down. It is just as impolite to forget someone's name in the world of Spirit as it is on the Earth Plane! Find out what they have come to help you with. Ask them to tell you about themselves. These are REAL people who have interesting things to tell you. You don't want to talk to strangers do you?

As you practice this method you will eventually meet the Spirit Guide who has accepted the responsibility for overseeing your channel as you practice your Spiritual Mediumship. Always be sure that Guide is present when you work. Even Great Ascended Masters will acknowledge this Guide if they come to someone during a Spiritual Reading. Remember to thank your Guide and all communicators at the close of every session. Remember to close and seal your Aura at the end of each meditation or reading. Saying "My Aura is sealed and protected in a egg of Silver Flame" three times will do the trick.
